Elektrisk Gønner was initially formed when producer Benjamin Løzninger teamed up with a then-unknown Danish singer named MØ to record an album remotely over the course of 12 days from either side of the Atlantic Ocean. They met for the first time 3 days before their first show at Les Eurockéennes. Following that show they toured extensively with festival appearances at Festival Musiques Emergentes in Quebec, Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona and with tour support slots for the likes of The XX, Jose Gonzales, Coldcut and Wye Oak. Their music appeared on Lost Girl, Girls (HBO) and CSI: Miami. After MØ signed to Sony, Benjamin relocated to Brooklyn and recruited singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and model Skyler Cocco for the new Elektrisk Gønner line-up ahead of the release of new material in 2017 and 2018. ‘Money’ was the first of their new tracks, released via Kaleidoscope in the UK and Netherlands, and Nordic Records throughout the rest of the world.
